Council and Committees...
Trinity's Council (elders), standing committees, and the Board of Trustees are crucial to the work of the church, both the ongoing administrative functions as well as the intellectual and spiritual needs of our congregation and community.

Every committee has a specific focus and each would welcome your participation. You do not have to be an elder to lend a helping hand. If you have any questions about the Council governance, or would like to serve on a committee, please contact us.

Mission and Social Outreach. Trinity is an active and involved congregation that reaches out to those who are underprivileged or at-risk in our community and throughout the world. The M & S committee is responsible for the implementation of local outreach programmes and for accentuating the work of the United Church's Mission and Service Fund.

Friendship. The goal of the Friendship committee is to encourage fellowship in the congregation and to coordinate Sunday morning ushers, greeters, and refreshment volunteers.

Stewardship. An important expression of faith is the sharing of our many gifts. The role of the Stewardship team is to encourage us all to become more involved in the growth of our church family, not only though our givings, but by offering our time and talents in God's service.

Christian Development. Comprising members of the Sunday School, Youth, Scouting, AOTS, UCW and many other groups, this committee is responsible for the ongoing faith education programmes at Trinity.

Finance. These volunteers manage all of Trinity's financial affairs, including budgets, financial statements, envelopes, payroll, insurance, etc. to ensure that we have the resources to fullfill the mission of the church.

Ministry and Personnel. We have wonderful ministerial and administrative staff employed at Trinity. This committee oversees the church's personnel requirements, working in consultation with and in support of all paid staff and the members of our congregation.

Public Relations. This group delivers steady communications about the activities at Trinity by various means, including the quarterly Trinity Tidings, newspaper advertising, and this website.

Property. Our beautiful structure, originally built in 1879, serves as a place of worship as well as the meeting place for a number of church and community organizations. The members of this committee oversee its use and are responsible for maintaining and enhancing the church's indoor and outdoor appearance.

Music and Worship. As the name suggests, this committee tends to the worship life of the congregation, the planning of weekly and special services, the administration of the sacraments; coordinating baptisms, funerals and weddings; organizing the choir and music; and arranging for pulpit supply.

Note: Draft copies of past Council and committee minutes can be accessed from our Schedules & Downloads page.

Board of Trustees
While the Council focuses on the continuing administrative and spiritual activities of the church, Trinity's Board of Trustees duties are to ensure that the property and investments of the church are adequately managed and protected in the present and for future generations.
